When you're planning a move in Lubbock, one of the first decisions you'll face is where to get your boxes. You can buy cardboard boxes from a hardware store, search for free ones on Facebook Marketplace, or rent heavy-duty plastic bins from ReMOVE LBK. Let's compare the options honestly.
The True Cost of Cardboard Boxes
A standard set of 30 moving boxes from a hardware store or moving supply company in Lubbock will run approximately $60 to $120, depending on size and quality. That's before tape ($5 to $15), markers, and packing paper. After your move, you're left with a pile of broken-down cardboard that needs to be recycled or disposed of — a chore most people underestimate.
Free Cardboard Boxes: The Hidden Costs
Free boxes from liquor stores, grocery stores, or Facebook Marketplace sound appealing, but they have real downsides. They're different sizes, making stacking difficult. They've already been used and may be weakened. They require significant time investment to source. And they still need to be disposed of after your move.
The Cost of ReMOVE LBK Rental Boxes
Renting from ReMOVE LBK costs less than $1 per box per day. A set of 30 boxes for a week-long move runs roughly $30, with no additional tape, no disposal, and no driving required. The longer your rental period, the lower the daily rate per box.
A Side-by-Side Comparison
Buying cardboard: moderate upfront cost, requires tape, variable quality, disposal required, single-use. Free cardboard: zero upfront cost, time-intensive sourcing, unreliable quality, disposal required. ReMOVE LBK rental: lowest effective cost, no tape required, heavy-duty and reliable, we handle pickup.
Quality That Makes a Real Difference
Our plastic bins hold more than a standard cardboard box. They're weather-resistant, stackable without risk of collapse, and come with built-in handles that make carrying easier. They won't give way on the stairs, buckle in the heat, or absorb moisture on a rainy Lubbock afternoon.
The math is clear. For convenience, cost, quality, and sustainability, renting from ReMOVE LBK is the smarter choice. Book your boxes online today at RemoveLBK.com.
